Stamp Some Christmas Cookies!

Did you know you can use Stampin' Up! rubber stamps to decorate cookies? Country Living magazine liked the Stampin' Up! products they used in the Autumn Elegance promotion so much that they asked if they could feature them again in the December 2006 issue of Country Living. You can see and read all about these cookies on pages 140 and 144 of the December 2006 issue. They made beautiful patterns on the cookies with the stamping and then colored in with Luster Dust, typically used for cake decorating. Some of the cookies could even be made into ornaments. Some of the sets they used were "Peaceful Wishes", "Snowflakes", and "Happiest of Holidays" as well as an alphabet set and even one of the big Monogram letters. Sounds like fun!

Stampin' Up! Adhesives Do the Job!

No need to feel guilty buying a lot of stamping supplies for yourself, because you never know when they might come in handy for other tasks around the house. My son had to make a construction for a Calculus project out of these foam sheets (there are high-level mathematical equations involved in the design!) and then they had to be glued together (late at night, of course). First we tried regular white glue, but that was going to take a long time to set up and dry. Turns out SNAIL adhesive was perfect for holding the foam sheets together, and Sticky Strip adhered the building to the base. No muss, no fuss. Crystal Effects also worked well on a sample of foam pieces with strong holding power. Also, the Fiskars paper trimmer has often been used for school projects! So you see, stamping supplies are very useful for lots of things!

Simply Sent Kits

Here is a photo of one of the Simply Sent Kits, Good Things, that I received in my order the other day. You can see all the Simply Sent Kits in the new Winter Mini Catalog. I was so impressed with this kit! The box it comes in makes a lovely presentation. Inside was a nice instruction booklet and all the supplies needed, including adhesives, to make 10 cards, five each of two different designs. The stamps are die-cut so no trimming needed, just mount and use. And once you have made the ten cards, just order more cardstock and supplies and you still have the stamp set! These Simply Sent Kits will make wonderful gifts for the holidays or any occasion, especially for new stampers, but really for anyone who would like to just sit down and stamp! http://www.stampinup.com/us/enu/6766.asp

Learning New Things

I am confident that soon I will have this blog fairly well set up and ready for business! I've been learning about the various features and trying to get things put where I want them. I haven't forsaken stamping at all....I've been working on Christmas cards and using LOTS of glitter! Glitter, glitter everywhere! But I think our Dazzling Diamonds glitter adds such a decorative touch, especially on Christmas cards.

My New Blog!

Just a few months ago, I had barely heard about blogs or knew much about them. And now I have one! Not long ago I started noticing that a lot of stamping ladies had their own blogs, but I sure didn't know why. Most that I looked at were very interesting, fun to read, and had wonderful stamping projects to view. I didn't dream that I would have one, especially so soon. But here I am, partly as a challenge to myself to learn something new and try to keep up up technologically and partly to add another dimension to my stamping business. So we'll see how it goes! Another good excuse to spend more time on stamping!
